Mob tries to storm doc's residence

Imphal, August 12 2015: Angry family members of Th Rupabati along with a large number of meira paibees and local club volunteers tried to storm the residence of Dr Praneshori at Heirangoithong Aheibam Leikai in Imphal West on Wednesday.Rupabati (41) died on Tuesday while delivering a baby at RIMS.

Family members are accusing that she died due to sheer negligence of Dr Praneshori and her team.

The angry crowd from the victim's locality Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai tried to storm the residence of Dr Praneshori.

However, locals of Heirangoithong Aheibam Leikai foiled the attempt following which a scuffle ensued between the two sides.

A team of Singjamei Police came to the spot and managed to control the crowd.

Later, two representatives of the angry crowd entered the doctor's residence, but no one was found there.

Later, the people from the two localities agreed to organize a joint meeting to settle the matter.
