SPIC MACAY attracts music aspirants

Gurukul Anubhav scholarship scheme makes an attempt to bring in students closer to a world of wisdom, inspiration, dreams, discovery and exploration through arts, stated president of SPIC MACAY, Imphal Chapter Dr W Ibomcha at a press briefing today at Government Music College.
He urged the students to apply for the Gurukul Anubhav Scholarship Scheme 2016 which provides an opportunity to a student to stay with eminent gurus for a month and imbibe their wisdom and observe the ethos that exist in completely different environment.
Earlier, a team of 17 delegates from the Sate led by Ibomcha participated in the 3rd SPIC MACAY International Convention held at the Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay (IIT-B) in Mumbai from May 31 to June 6 .
Sharing the experience of the convention, Ibomcha said that the convention provided great opportunity to students to learn the different art forms including music, dance, wood crafts, paintings and other contemporary art forms.
Over 300 artistes from different parts of the country participated in a week-long event which was marked by theatrical performances, presentation of classical music & dance and talks by various eminent artistes.
The programme also included intensive workshops conducted by inspiring gurus and master craftsmen.
National Conventions are the congregation of the people associated with this noble cause, who spend one week in a unique ashram-like atmosphere, he said.
He further said that under the supervision of SPIC MACAY, a National School Intensive Programme will be held from December 24 to December 30, 2015 at Delhi Public School, Coimbatore.
Urging the students to participate in the said programme, he said that the intensive programme will help students in their overall personality development.
