Blessing ceremony of 'Mei Iklaba Thamoi' held

Imphal, August 20 2021: The blessing ceremony for Shumang Leela titled 'Mei Iklaba Thamoi' based on the life story of Tokyo 2020 Silver Medallist, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu was held today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen at Palace Compound.

The Shumang Leela will be enacted by the Production Committee of Selected Shumang Leela Artistes Team.

The blessing ceremony was graced by the chief advisor of Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, Dr M Nara, Padmashree Awardee Naba Warepa, VC of DMU, Prof N Rajmuhon Singh, Director of IPR Manipur, H Balkrishna, Director of Arts and Culture, Ng Uttam, Crown executive of Proveda, RK Khogensana and Assistant director of Sports Promotion, Laishangbam Anita Chanu as the presidium members.

Saikhom Mirabai Chanu also attended the ceremony.

The main actors of the play includes Thongram Heramoti who will enact as S Mirabai Chanu, Iboyaima Khuman as the father of Mirabai and Sorokhaibam Robindro as the mother.

Sougrakpam Hemanta, Sangeet Natak Akademi Awardee will direct the play and the playwright of the play is Ranjit Ningthouja.

The music direction will be given by Peace Maker Artistes Association and Naba Wareppa will be the consultant of the play.
