Relief materials, monetary aid provided

Ramakrishna Mission Imphal as a part of its ongoing philanthropic activities, distributed winter blankets and other relief materials at seven relief camps set up at Kumbi Tera Kha, Moirang Khunou Khongnangmakhong, Moirang Khunou Mayai, Makha and Maning Leikai, Mukta High School, Kokilabon and Thangalawai in Moirang.
A press release by Ramakrishna Mission Imphal said that 488 winter blankets were provided for 233 families taking shelter in these camps.
Expectant mothers, infants and young students taking shelter in these camps were also provided food supplements, infant milk and stationery items.
In addition to the above, three baby walkers were also gifted at Kumbi Tera Kha relief camp on request made by the mothers and relief camp management team.
Since the beginning of November month till date, the Ramakrishna Mission has distributed 1574 winter blankets, 105 packets of supplements for expectant mothers and infants, 2373 notebooks apart from other stationary materials and other necessary items worth more than Rs 7.5 lakhs at 21 relief camps, sheltering more than 2590 people, from 738 families, in Imphal East, Imphal West and Bishnupur District.
Kakching MLA of Sugnu Assembly Constituency, K Ranjit provided monetary assistance of Rs 20, 000 and donated rice bags, potatoes, edible oil and other essential items to relief camp opened at Kakching Higher Secondary School.
Kangujam Seityajit, son of K Ranjit visited the relief camp and handed over the monetary aid and relief materials to the Committee for Peace and Social Harmony, Head Office Kakching which is managing this relief camp.
Meanwhile, villagers of Phunal Sambum village donated firewoods and green leafy vegetables to the relief camp for the conflict survivors taking refuge in this relief camp.
It may be noted that many well-wishers continue to extend support to this camp amid these trying times when the State is reeling under extreme difficulties due to the tragic communal crisis which has been going on since May this year.
