Meetei Mayek training programme in Assam concludes

Cachar, May 09 2024: The 10-day training programme to impart Meetei Mayek among the Meeteis and Meetei Pangal diaspora of Cachar district in Assam concluded today.

The training was conducted by Meetei Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) in collaboration with the Directorate of Language Planning Implementation, Government of Manipur as a part of the initiatives to promote Meetei Mayek, said a press release by MEELAL publicity secretary.

Notably, training on Meetei Mayek were conducted at Govinda Nagar High School, Saikhom Leikai; Sonai Jubati Singha Manipuri High School; 1,2,3 Govinda Nagar LP School, Cachar; Meetei Culture and Linguistic Centre (MCLC) and Lairikkon School, Sonai, Kalibari, added the release.

It further informed that a meeting will be convened for the different language bodies and its branches in Assam at the South Barak Hall, Binnakandi Ghat with the aim to form an apex body of the different language related organizations so as to work under a common roof.
