Manipur Youth League : MSA-A claim U-13 title, MFA emerge U-15 winners

MSA-A emerged champions of U-13 competition of the 1st Manipur Youth League organised by Max Sports Academy at Football Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak beating SAK 8-7 on penalties in the final match staged today while MFA defeated LYDA to win the U-15 title.
The U-13 final match was a very competitive match as both MSA-A and SAK were neck to neck from the beginning before settling the game in a 2-2 draw till the end of normal time.
SAK enjoyed an early lead with U Sanathoi scoring the opener just three minutes into the game but had to concede the lead as MSA-A's Th Rishikanta fired in the equaliser in the 32nd minute before his compatriot A Devo broke the deadlock in the 38th minute.
MSA-A's lead was however short-lived as U Sanathoi was at it again for his second goal in the 45th minute and restored parity providing some hope to his team.
With both teams failing to get in the winner during normal time the game was stretched to penalty shoot-out wherein MSA-A came out on top with 8-7 win to claim the coveted title.
It were S Roshan, A Devo, Ch Pritam, Khupngulin, Th Riskhikanta and Paotinmang who got their names of the scoresheet for the winning side while SAK's Th Rajesh, U Sanathoi, H Nelson, Th Dijen and S Rohini managed to beat the MSA-A keeper.
Winners MSA-A were feted with Rs 70,000 while runners up SAK had to contend with Rs 30,000.T Rohit of MSA-A claimed the best goalkeeper title while his compatriot A Devo emerged best defender.
MSA-A's S Roshan was adjudged best midfielder and best player of the tournament while Paotinmang and Th Dijen (11 goals) were named best striker and top scorer of the competition.
U-15 final
The U-15 final match was also a close contest between MFA and LYDA but a spot kick converted by Sanamacha was more than enough for MFA to earn the title of the competition and winners prize of Rs 75,000.Runners up LYDA were awarded Rs 40,000 and its player Th Edison was adjudged best player of the competition.
MFA's N Meiraba, K Surendro and Th Lenin were named best goalkeeper, best defender, best mid-fielder respectively while Kh Sanamacha fetched best striker and top scorer awards for scoring 11 goals throughout the competition.
