10th Mega Marathon 2016 Shanker, Premila clinch men's, women's title

Shanker Man Thapa of Assam and S Premila Devi of Yairipok respectively clinched the men's and women's title of the 10th Mega Marathon � Run for Your Nation, organised by the United People's Front (UPF), Manipur.
The race was flagged off by Olympian Ksh Thoiba from Khuman Lampak Main Stadium and ended at the same spot after covering some 22 kilometres.
The programme was graced by Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Lokeshwar Singh, UPF president S Ratankumar and Athletic Association of Manipur president L Ajit Singh as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
In the men's open group, Shanker Man Thapa of Assam took 01:05:29 sec to finish on top while Sanjit Luwang (01:08:11) and Md Amir Khan (01:08:23) both from Yairipok secured the second and third spot respectively.

A cash prize of Rs 30,000 donated by Manipur State Social Welfare Board chairperson RK Nayansana Devi in memory of his son (L) Jaideep Gurumayum was awarded to the winner Shanker Man Thapa.
Sanjit Luwang received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 donated by Huidrom Ibomcha Singh in memory of his father (L) Huidrom Angachou.
Third place Md Amir Khan was awarded a cash prize of Rs 15,000 donated by Oinam Romen Singh in memory of his father (L) O Charly Singh.
Further runners securing 4th to 15th place were given cash prize of Rs 2000 each which was donated by Oinam Priyo Singh in memory of his father (L) O Mani Singh.
The runners who secured 4th to 15th place are � Md Iqbal Hussain (Yairipok), M Samananda (Samurou), Md Firoz Khan (Lilong), Md Ramijuddin (LSA), Sanjoy B (Assam), Bijay D (Assam), Kh Romarjit (Khundrakpam), Francis Aurungshi (Poiroutongba), Sapam Romesh Singh (Samurou), Ksh Herojit (Naranseina), Md Minhajuddin (Lillong) and Ph Premkumar (Yairipok).
In the women's group, S Premila Devi (Yairipok) � 01:27:05, Mk Minarashi (Yairipok) � 01:29:04 and T Russia (Ngourangbam) � 01:29:34 secured the first, second and third place respectively.
A cash prize of Rs 30,000; Rs 20,000; Rs 15,000 respectively were awarded to the first, second and third position holder respectively.
PWD Additional Chief Engineer Nongmaithem Noren Singh, The Blossom School and M Lokendro donated the cash prizes for first, second and third place.

A cash prize of Rs 2000 each, donated by Van Heusen, Paona Bazar was awarded to the consolation winners.
