Agartala, November 10 2009:
Banned NLFT militants killed six persons, who were related to seven insurgents who had surrendered, at Pusparampara in North Tripura district early on Tuesday.
Militants of the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) raided the village, about 70 km from Kanchanpur police station, and kidnapped the six men at gun point and shot them dead in a nearby jungle.
Seven insurgents had surrendered with arms and ammunition before the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Amiya Chowdhury on Monday.
A strong contingent of Tripura State Rifles, led by the Superintendent of Police of North district, has launched a combing operation there.
