Imphal, July 13 2010:
With the Medical Council of India recommending that Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences start functioning from this year during a board meeting to the Union Ministry of Health yesterday, the start of its maiden session is right on track, said a highly reliable source.
The formal notification of the go ahead signal given to JNIMS may be issued on July 15, said the source and added that classes will begin by August 1 .
The student intake in the first year will be 100, with Manipur enjoying a 60 pc quota while the rest is open.
