RCWDAPM pays tribute to Helen Keller

The 136th birth anniversary observance of Helen Keller was organised by Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur (RCWDAPM) today at Singjamei Chingamathak with H Shyamkumar Sharma, Advisor of All Manipur Arts & Culture Students, O Birkumar Singh, joint secretary of RCWDAPM attending as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, H Shyamkumar Sharma said that differently abled persons should not consider themselves as unfortunate people and should follow the footstep of Helen Keller, who was not only a blind woman but also a hearing impaired one, but she remained a torch bearer to the differently abled persons as she rendered many welfare services for them and wrote many books like The Story of My Life, My Religion, Out of the Dark, The World I Live In etc.
M Premier Singh, programme manager of the Centre stated that there are many talented people among the differently abled persons and to encourage them, the Centre is extending help in many ways.
Birkumar Singh, joint secretary of RCWDAPM in his speech mentioned that differently abled persons should not hide their talents and must try to show to the world that they are extremely talented as normal people and also assured of help from the Centre side.
