Workshop begins

A three-day workshop on 'Small Business Development Process for Start-ups' was opened today at School of Social Sciences, Manipur University under the aegis of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, Manipur University.
Prof N Lokendra, Dean, School of Social Sciences, MU, Prof Karunesh Saxena, Director and Chairman, Faculty of Management Studies MLS University, Udaipur, Pranab Sen, Chief Manager, SBI MU Campus Branch and Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei, Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development, MU graced the inaugural function as presidium members.
Prof N lokendra said that the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development is an incubator centre of skills, business ideas and build entrepreneurs in the State.
Prof Ch Ibohal said that skill development plays an important role for active development and well being of the State's economy.
One third of the total population in the State are still unemployed.
"To face the challenges of unemployment in the State we should look forward to skill development and promotion of young entrepreneurs.
The centre would act as a bridge between entrepreneurs and financial institutes like banks in the years to come", Prof Ibohal said.
