Imphal, May 07 2016 :
Taking strong exception to the dis-appearance of two people after they went to Myanmar for fishing, civil society organisa-tions based at Moreh have called a 24 hours total bandh at the border town with effect from Sunday midnight.
A joint meeting of different civil society organisations based at Moreh was held at the office of the Manipuri Muslim Council Moreh this afternoon.
The meeting agreed to hold another round of meeting in the afternoon of Tuesday and deliberate on further course of agitation in case there is no positive response from concerned authorities even after the 24 hours total bandh.
Education, medical services, power, water supply and religious activities would be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
Notably, Md Jalaluddin alias Amuthi (30) and Md Kheiruddin (24), both belonging to Moreh Muslim Basti (Ward No 5) went to Myanmar on a Kenbo bike for fishing in the morning of May 2 .
But they never returned and their whereabouts still remain unknown.
