Thoubal, December 06 2020:
BJP Khangabak Mandal has today kick-started 'Loumigi Numit/Kishan Day' observation at Pulleipokpi Keithel, Sangaiyumpham in line with Bharatiya Janata Party's pursuance of'free and strong farmers' objective.
Vice president of BJP Manipur Pradesh, RK Somorjit; Convenor of the Intellectual Cell of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Shadiskanta; president of BJP Khangabok Mandal, L Tomba Khuman; former vice president of BJP Manipur Pradesh, Thokchom Jadumani Singh; Member of Khangabok ZP, Kh Rajmohon Singh; Nominee Pradhan of Khangabok Part-1 GP, N Lakpa Singh; Pradhan of Khangabok Part-2 GP, S Opendro and Nominee Pradhan of Khangabok Part-3 GP, M Manglemjao Singh were presidium members of the programme which were attended by farmers from Sangaiyumpham Part-1, Part-2, Wangbal, Uyal, Nepra Company, Khangabok Part-1, Part-2, Part-3, Lamding and Samaram.
Speakers during the function maintained that farmers were denied benefits they deserve before BJP came into power but the BJP led Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, without luring the farmers on false promises, has been relentlessly working for the welfare of the farmers.
The BJP led Government is keen on ensuring double income to the farmers and has been planning to help achieve the goal by devising many plans, they said.
The farm laws introduced recently will put an end to the regime of middlemen or brokers after 70 years and as such the farmers will be empowered to fix the price of their agricultural produce and sell it to anyone they want, the speakers said.
Earlier, farmers sold their produce locally and the number of buyers were limited.
Not only this, there were many drawbacks in the line of transactions and thus the real price of any produce was not known.
As such the fanners had only to suffer as middlemen or brokers largely manipulated, they said while continuing that there will be no such scenario with the new laws which stand to protect the rights of the farmers in every situation.
With the new farm laws, the farmers will be able to prosper and attain lasting economic security, they said while further asserting that the dream of farmers to have 'One country, one market' will be soon realised.
