Imphal, March 29 2016:
The Red Army of the proscribed PREPAK celebrated its 36th 'uprising' day on March 26 together with people of the land.
The 'uprising' day was celebrated at the outfit's central headquarters, general headquarters, tactical headquarters, base areas, transit camps and training centres.
Red Army's Chief of Army Staff (CAS) Lt Colonel Aheiba Angom graced the celebration at the Ghqs as chief guest where the party's seven coloured flag was unfurled by General Staff Officer-1 (G-1) Major Rozer.
Then the gathering observed silence for two minutes in honour of all the 'martyrs'.
This was followed by offering of gun salute.
Speaking at the occasion, the CAS elaborated on the unfolding socio-political scenario and the growing responsibilities of the Red Army.
The G-1 called upon all Red Army revolutionaries to carry on the armed campaign until the twin objectives of sovereignty and social equality are achieved.
The outfit, through a press release issued by its publicity and propaganda assistant secretary LeibakNgakpa Luwang, then conveyed gratitude to people who took part in the 'uprising' day celebration as well as all the people who have been extending physical and moral support to the Red Army in the ongoing liberation movement all along.
It asserted that the Red Army will continue its armed campaign until freedom and social equality are achieved.
A statement issued by the outfit's Military Affairs Committee (MAC) in connection with the Red Army's 'uprising' day asserted that Kangleipak (Manipur) was degraded to the lowest status of a Part C State after it was allegedly annexed into the Indian Union.
Soon after the people of Kangleipak raised a banner of revolt, the Government of India (GoI) enacted all kinds of black laws and unleashed unprecedented repressive measures.
Since then GoI has been following different divisive policies with an ulterior motive to create divisions and incite animosity among different indigenous communities.
In its third report submitted to the UN in 1995, GoI misinterpreted the meaning of self-determination thereby creating ambiguity apart from delaying the central issue of self determination.
Even as GoI has been consistently conspiring to undermine the International Law, the oppressed people must fight to their optimal level, in the same line, PREPAK is determined to carry on the armed struggle until the National goal is achieved.
All revolutionary groups must introspect into GoI's divide and rule policy which is quite successful so far.
The success is not solely because of GoI's policy.
Distrust and parochial outlook harboured by different communities have been contributing significantly to the success of GoI's divide and rule policy.
Even if India has all the military strength, it will not be able to suppress the liberation movement for good.
Nonetheless, there is a growing need to form a united front for all like-minded revolutionary groups of the entire WESEA.
If any question pertaining to armed wings undermines the quest for unity, the Red Army is prepared to make any sacrifice, the MAC asserted.
Yet, forging unity should not be based on the views and concepts of a single group, the MAC asserted.
