Assam Rifles reaches out to Ningols of the State

As done every year, Assam Rifles reached out to the Ningols of Manipur, with the IGAR (S) extending invitations to quite a large number of Ningols to a Ningol Chakkouba feast at the Mantripukhri camp of the Assam Rifles today.
Drawn from different communities of the State, 450 Ningols of Manipur turned up for the Chakkouba festival which was hosted by Major General Virendra Singh IGAR (S) and other officers.
The event was organised as a 'gesture of love, affection and esteem' in order to pay befitting tributes to women of the State whose outstanding qualities are well known over the world.

A traditional welcome was extended to the Ningols of the State from different sections of society who have brought laurels no only to the State but have proved their mettle at the National as well as international arena through their contributions in all fields.
The womenfolk in return offered athenpot to the rank and file of IGAR (S) .
In his message to the Ningols, the IG, Major General Virendra Singh appreciated the contributions of the womenfolk in all walks of life and added that it was an honour for him to host the Ningols on behalf of the Assam Rifles fraternity.
Appealing to the womenfolk to continue their role in maintaining peace, development and harmony in the State, the IG said that Manipur is undergoing a positive transformation and women can make immense difference in continuing the progress of the State.
The IG also conveyed that the Assam Rifles is committed to standing by Manipur.
The event was conducted according to Manipuri traditions and various cultural programmes were show cased followed by a felicitation of the Ningols.
The event culminated with a sumptuous traditional feast with the Assam Rifles officers and men attired in pheijoms serving the Ningols.
