Sangai festival : Preparations on in full swing

Preparations are in full swing for the State's annual cultural celebration � the Sangai Festival 2016 .
The Sangai Express team went to inspect the venue where the annual festival will be held.
All the Departments who were handled different tasks by the State Government were seen acting their parts in the preparation for the festival.
In 2015, the Department of Tourism introduced a new event � the Heritage Park that consisted of 17 different tradition exhibition huts of different communities.
This year, the Department will introduce Women's Market as an item for the festival.
The market will be set up in front of the Meitei Yumjao inside the Heritage Park.

Not only this, the Department has annexed recreational space on the sides of the 17 exhibition huts for the comfort of the tourists especially the elderly persons.
The construction works for the space began on October 25 this year.
Horticulture Department, on the other hand have been working on their stalls since November 7, officials said.
The department's stalls will showcase the produce by farmers from all the districts of the State.
Industries Department are setting up 300 stalls to showcase clothing products.
At the back end of the compound, foods stalls have been lined up.
Sufficient washrooms are being set up for the convenience of the visiting tourists.
Beautification of the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre, more popularly known as BOAT, is underway.
Artists from Thailand, Srilanka as well as performers from the hills districts of the State will showcase their talents on the stage of BOAT during the festival.
The Electricity Department started fitting lighting for the festival today.
Enough security personnel have been employed to ensure that no unwanted event takes place during and before the fest.
