People greeted on occasion of Diwali

On the occasion of Diwali, the Governor of Manipur, the state Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister and the IGAR (South) with all ranks of Assam Rifles have greeted the people of Manipur.
In his message, Manipur Governor Dr.KK Paul conveyed his heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of the state, saying 'let the lights of Diwali festival dispel hatrd and discordance to bring joy, peace, prosperity and happiness to the people of Manipur.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, in his message to the people, said the the festival signifies victory of good over evil.
'Diwali festival commemorates Lord Rama's return to his kingdom Ayodhya after completing 14 years of exile', asserted the chief minister, wishing that "May the light of Diwali dispel the dark forces of evils in the society and show us the right path to a peaceful Manipur" .
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who is also the President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, in his message to the people, said Diwali festival for the followers of Hinduism reminds us that truth always triumphs.
On this occasion, he appealed to the people of Manipur to shun the path of violence and bring about a peaceful and prosperous state.
Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IGAR (South) and All Ranks of Assam Rifles also greeted the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Deepavali (Diwali).
The IGAR (South) said in his message that Deepavali, the festival of lights, signifies the victory of good over evil and strengthens our resolve to follow true ethical values in our lives.
'May the noble ideals of the festival usher in peace, prosperity and happiness in the region', the message added.
