The State Cabinet has given its nod to set up Manipur State Education Service.
After the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi held this afternoon, Home Minister Gaikhangam told reporters that Grade-III would be the entry point into the service and 50 per cent of the employees would be recruited through in-service competition while another 50 per cent would be appointed through direct recruitment.
Manipur Public Service Commission would recruit the employees of the service, he added.
The Cabinet also decided to seek permission from Governor Gurbachan Jagat regarding enforcement of an Ordinance to facilitate the 6th amendment of Manipur Panchayati Raj Act.
The ammendment is necessary for delimitation of Gram Panchayats following increase of population and coming of Panchayat elections, the Home Minister said.
