Imphal, July 14 2014:
Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) has asserted that the Naga people are facing untold sufferings under the hands of NSCN-IM during the ceasefire period.
In a statement issued by its assistant publicity secretary Thomas Numai, MNPF alleged that NSCN-IM has forgotten the national cause, abandoned all ceasefire ground rules and collaborates with the Govt.of India for their own benefits.
'They have suppressed Nagas politically, mentally, economically, and spiritually.
Yet shamelessly they proclaim Nagaland for Christ', MNPF added.
'During the ceasefire with the Govt.of India, NSCN-IM had committed numerous crimes on the Manipuri people.
They tried to conceal their crimes but the Lord heard the cries of the victims.
So the good lord exposed NSCN-IM's crimes to the people', it pointed out.
Mentioning the names of those killed by NSCN-IM without proper reasons during the ceasefire period, MNPF flays NSCN-IM for killing Ngalangzar, the former chairman and sitting Councillor member of ADC Ukhrul as anti Naga.
The statement recalled that NSCN-IM had eliminated SDO Kasom khullen Dr.Kishan, former MLA Wungnaoshang Keishing, M.H.Varengam of Lungphu village, Shaipam of Wahong village, James Mao of Senapati, former TKS president Jonathan Kashung, Kenedy Paomai of Senapati, H.Victor of Chatric Khullen, A.Shepou of Senapati, Machingmi of Nongdam Tangkhul village, besides Ngalanzar, former vice-chairmen & sitting councillor of ADC Ukhrul.
It charged, 'The reasons of killing of the above mentioned persons are not yet declared to the public', and added that NSCN-IM has been resorting to killing, raping, kidnapping, molesting and looting in different places of Manipur.
While condemning the brutal assassination of Ngalangzar, the MNPF statement claimed that NSCN-IM carried out such crimes successfully with the support of the Indian Army.
Sharing the pain and grief endured by the bereaved family, MNPF appealed to all the Social Organizations, Churches and General Public to stand up and raise in one voice against the atrocities of NSCN-IM.
