Imphal, March 05 2016 :
Even as Head Constable Th Herojit failed to appear before Sessions Court, Imphal West citing health reasons today, Chung-kham Sanjit's mother Chung- kham Taratombi submitted an application to the same Court seeking an order for fresh investigation.
Since morning, large number of police including women personnel under the supervision of Imphal police station SDPO were deployed at Cheirap Court complex as Herojit was supposed to appear in the Court today.
However, he did not turn up at today's hearing of the case.
It is said that the cop's counsel had already pleaded the Court that his client would not be able to attend the trial due to health problems some days back.

It may be mentioned that the cop had already submitted a confessional statement of killing Chungkham Sanjit in a fake encounter to the Court earlier.
All other accused of the case however turned up for today's trial.
Some leaders of women bodies were also seen at the Court complex during the hearing.
As Herojit's confessional statement was supposed to be discussed at the hearing, the Court fixed March 21 as the next date of hearing.
Meanwhile, in the backdrop of Herojit's sensational revelation, Sanjit's mother Chungkham Taratombi today petitioned Sessions Court, Imphal West to order CBI for a fresh investigation into the death of her son on July 23, 2009 inside Maimu Pharmacy along BT road.
The Court later fixed March 21 as the date of hearing of the application.
In her application, Taratombi also pleaded the Court to order CBI to submit supplementary charge sheets regarding Chungkham Sanjit's death.
She also requested the Court to ask CBI to investigate how much truth was there in Herojit's revelation.
It may be mentioned a similar writ petition submitted by Taratombi was disposed by the High Court of Manipur last month asking the petitioner to approach Sessions Court, Imphal West where trial for July 23 Khwairamband bazar incident is going on.
