Imphal, May 17 2016:
Altogether 38 members of Indian National Congress and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) left their respective parties and joined BJP recently.
All the 38 people belong to Hiyanglam AC and they were accorded a warm reception at the BJP Manipur Pradesh office here today.
17 Congress workers led by Maibam Dhanabir who contested the by-election to Hiyanglam AC in October 2014 and 21 AITC members who joined BJP anew were felicitated today where BJP Manipur Pradesh president Ksh Bhabananda and State Election Management Committee convenor Th Chaoba were also present among others.
Speaking at the occasion, Bhabananda claimed that BJP's popularity and strength are growing by leaps and bounds.
Highlighting the immense roles of party workers towards strengthening the party, Bhabananda asserted that leaders will be helpless when workers are unwilling to work with commitment.
The party's structure can be viewed in the form of an inverted pyramid, the BJP president said while calling upon all the members of the party to work together in the collective interest of the party.
On account of rampant corruption, Congress party's popularity has been dwindling while BJP's strength has been growing rapidly, asserted Th Chaoba.
BJP will form the Government in Assam soon after the election results are declared, he predicted.
Once BJP comes to power in Assam, Congress will wither in Manipur too, Chaoba claimed.
