Photo exhibition on 'History of Lamka' conducted at CCpur

A unique photo exhibition that seeks to trace the history, 'The Town Between The Hills: A Photo Exhibition on the History of Lamka' began today at Churachandpur District Library in Hiangtam Lamka.
The exhibition organised by 'This Is Lamka' in collaboration with NEST Lamka, Highland Group and Zogam Tribal Museum with the support of British Council, will continue till April 10 .
As per the organisers, the exhibition will be open for public viewing from 11am till 6pm .
They will also host a range of sessions from storytelling, conversations about home-grown stories and evening musical serenade on the sidelines.

The Conversations on 'Home-grown: Reading and Writing Stories of Our Own' will be hosted in collaboration with the Department of English, Churachandpur Government College.
Young home-grown writers and scholars will be in conversation with Dennis Lallienzuol, Co-Project Lead of 'This Is Lamka' on April 9 from 4.30pm onwards at the exhibition premises.
The final day of the exhibition will witness a story telling session followed by a musical serenade from various artists of the town.
The session will begin from 5pm onwards at the exhibition premises itself, said a statement released by the organisers.
The one of a kind photo exhibition seeks to engage, reflect and explore through photographs the visual history of the town.
'This Is Lamka' is a digital archiving project with a primary objective of preserving the visual history and narrative of the 'Zo' kindred tribes from Manipur and beyond, from photographic evidence and moving pictures that are surviving to this day and are in the danger of disappearing or lost.
'This Is Lamka' is supported as a project by the British Council's Heritage Grant for South Asia.
