Imphal, December 07 2011:
Asserting that the people of Manipur, from both the hills and the valley can aspire to lead a life of dignity at par with others only by being in a position to decide their own future, the proscribed UNLF has stated that this can be realised only when the people themselves work towards this end.
No one will come and even out for the field for the people said UNLF and added that for this to happen the time has come for everyone to shed the culture of looking everything through the prism of the self.
In a statement issued to the press today, the outfit said that the philosophy of leading an independent life is something inherited from the forefathers.
However during the last 62 years, the culture of dependence has become endemic.
Ministters, MLAs and the officialdom have all been turned into the agents of the Government of India to do their bidding, alleged the outfit and added that while these classes of people have prospered at the cost of the common people, there is an increasing dimming of the realisation that all this is due to the rule of the Government of India.
Despite the pervading decay in the social and moral fabric of some groups of the people, the MPA cadres of the UNLF have been putting their best foot forward to take up their bounden duty on behalf of the land and the people, claimed the outfit.
It is to counter the committed sons of the land, that the security forces have been labelling them anti-nationals.
To cosy up to their masters, some elements have carrying out the agenda of the outsiders and ostracising such innocent people, alleged the outfit.
