All set for 132nd Patriots' Day observance in Delhi

To remember heroes of Anglo-Manipur War 1891, preparations for 132nd Patriots' Day observance had been made at Convention Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi on Sunday.
The observance to be attended by noted academicians and scholars of Manipur and and other parts of the country will begin from 1.30pm by paying rich floral tributes to Anglo-Manipur War 1891 heroes.
Professor Bhagat Oinam, chairperson of JNU's Special Centre for NE Studies will give opening remark of the first session which will also have video messages from ICCR president Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and speeches from Kargil war hero Lt Col (retired) K Himalay, ex-MLA of J&K Balwant Singh, UP MLA MP Ariya, Union minister Dr RK Ranjan and JNU VC professor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit.
In the second session, Shivani Konjengbam will deliver a talk on 'The Manipur Empire: An Asiatic Power of the past' while noted anthropologist Rami (Niranjan Desai will talk on 'North East and geopolitical future' .
