Low count continues with 15 more positive
Covid claims one more to take toll to 371

Imphal, January 29 2021:
Even as the figure of positive cases on a single day has seen a sharp drop in the last few days, a 74-year-old man succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 371 .
The 74-year-old man from Churachandpur died at JNIMS, said a report of the Government COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, only 15 persons tested positive for COVID-19 for the second consecutive day taking the total number of positive cases to 29,037 .
The Covid Control Room had reported only 15 fresh cases yesterday also.
The State now has only 142 active cases and 28,524 recovered cases.
The recovery rate has improved to 98.23 percent.
The 15 persons, all civilians, who tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours include nine males and six females, said the Government COVID-19 report issued by Additional Director Health, Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
They tested positive for the virus at testing facilities at RIMS (4), Raj Mediciry (4), JNIMS (1), RD Wing (1), Advanced Hospital (1), Thoubal (1), Tengnoupal (1), Chandel (1) and Tamenglong (1) .
They hail from Imphal West (4), Imphal East (4), Bishnupur (2), Thoubal (1), Kakching (1), Tengnoupal (1), Chandel (1) and Tamenglong (1) .
On the other hand, 25 persons recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
The 25 persons include 21 who were under home isolation.
The remaining 4 have been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centres opened at SHRT (1), District Hospital Chandel (1) and LANVA (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,037 including 25,614 civilians and 3,423 Central security personnel.
The total number of recovered cases is 28,524 including 25,114 civilians and 3,410 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 142 including 133 civilians and 9 Central Security personnel, said the report.
