Single day positive cases drop to 58, two succumb

The number of COVID-19 positive cases registered in a single day has been declining continuously in the State since the past four/five days.
However, the death toll rose by two to take the offi cial death toll to 336 .
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
two men aged 76 and 75 hailing from Imphal West and Senapati respectively expired at RIMS Hospital during the last 24 hours.
In the meantime 58 people including two personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS, Imphal West, Mother's Care Hospital, Maipakpi Hospital, Asian Hospital.
Lamjingba Hospital, Samaritan Hospital, Shija Hospital, Thoubal, Tamenglong, Churachandpur, Jiribam and Babina Diagnostics.
The 56 civilians who have been tested positive be long to Imphal West (28), Imphal East (16), Thoubal (2), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (4) and Tamenglong (5) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand.
141 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (3)home isolation (113), RIMS (5), JNIMS (2), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (4), Lanva (2).CCC UNACCO (2) .
Ukhrul (4), Shija Hospital (5) and Sadbhavna (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 27,598 (general population 24,266 and Central security personnel 3,332) .
It includes 1,750 active cases (general population 1,544 and Central security peisonal 206) and 25,512 discharged cases (general population 22,390 and Central security personnel 3,122).The recovery rate as on Saturday is 92.44 per cent.
