Trainings on fishery concluded

With an aim to bring technical knowledge on fish production, National Association of Fishermen Manipur (NAFM) in collaboration with the scientists and food experts of the Central Institute of Fishery Technology (CIFT), Govt of India have successfully organised two different phases of training programmes at Uchiwa Kabui village, Imphal West and Sekmaijin Tribal village, Thoubal.
A release issued by NAFM president informed that the first training programme of Uchiwa Kabui village was conducted from March 22 till March 24 .
Attended by 100 trainees from different parts of the village and surrounding area, the closing function of the said training was graced by Dr N Prakash, Joint Director ICAR as chief guest, Dr Khomdon Lisam, former PD MACS as president respectively.
The second training programme was started from March 26 and concluded today at Sekmaijin Tribal village.
The closing function was graced by Joint Director Fisheries Dept, Govt of Manipur and N Chaoba Singh, former ZEO as chief guest and president respectively.
105 trainees from the different parts of the village have participated the three days training programme, according to the statement.
During the trainings, experts coming from CIFT Cochin facilitated various sessions on value added food prepare methods from fresh water fish including hygienic methods of drying and preservation of nutrients value, the NAFM release stated.
