A one day convention on Re-defining Manipuri and Naga Peace talk organized by Ethno Heritage Council (Hericoun), Manipur was held today at GM Hall, Imphal.
M Joychandra, President of Hericoun presided over the function and Ch Upendra Retd Judge was the moderator at the occasion.
Various communities such as Meitei, Kuki, Meitei Muslims, Kabui and other community were present in the convention.
There resolutions were unanimously resolved in the convention.
There are many communities who speak Manipuri in Manipur.
Manipur is a multi lingual, multi ethnic and multi religious state it resolved.
Kabui, Kom, Koireng, Kharam; Khongjai, Khoibu, Ngamei (Angami), Anal, Aimol, Chothe, Moyon, Monsang, Maring, Meitei, Tangkhul, Mao, Maram, Paomei, Zoumi, Liangmei, Thadou, Paite, Hmar, Mizo, Chiru, Gangte, Koirao, Lamkang, Lushai, Moyon, Purum, Ralte, Sukte, Vaite, Zou, Simtey, Vaiphei, Chin, Inpui, Mate, Rongmei, Tarao, Meitei Pangal, Soibu, Misao, Guite, Luphao and many other communities live it said.
Meitei alone can be specified as Manipuris.
There were interchange of community in earlier times and we all are one it said and hence the tradition, culture should not be broken up.
Secondly it resolved that all organizations of all groups should fight any individual or groups which are trying to disintegrate the state.
A broad based organization will also be formed by involving one or two representatives from each community it said.
It lastly resolved two members each from ZUCAM, HERICCUN and Kuki Inpi will work together in a Preparatory Committee to form the Luplen or organization.
