Imphal, September 25 2023:
The cease work strike proposed from Monday by Manipur Secretariat Services' Association (MSSA) has been kept in abeyance for some time following a circular issued by the chief secretary.
A letter jointly signed by office bearers of MSSA and Manipur Secretariat NM Drivers' Association was submitted to the chief secretary on Monday.
In the letter, it is mentioned that the cease work strike proposed from Monday has been deferred following the assurance given by the chief secretary stating that a meeting will be convened within short notice to discuss the issues being faced by the employees of the Manipur secretariat.
The letter also placed an 11-point charter of demands which will replace the earlier charter of demands submitted.
The new charter of demands include release of monthly salaries of employees on the first day every month; replacement of NPS with OPS; release pending DA/DR as agreed upon on September 7, 2021; payment of retirement benefits to all employees; provide benefits of LTC (Leave Travel Concession) and Children Education Allowance; fix grade pay of government drivers at Rs 2400; fill up vacant posts in Manipur secretariat; review decision of making Saturday as non-holiday; follow transfer and posting policy; stop direct recruitment of MSS; and initiate Limited Departmental Examination.
