Two ambulances, medical items handed over

Covid task forces for Thoubal and Khangabok assembly constituencies received one ambulance each along with other medical items from their respective MLAs on Saturday.
The ambulances, two oxygen concentrators, PPE kits and medicines were handed over to the volunteers of Covid task forces by Khangabok MLA O Surjakumar from his side as well on behalf of his father Thoubal MLA O Ibobi at a programme held at the premises of Arong Ningthou, Thoubal Athokpam Keithel.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Surjakumar informed the ambulances were presented for utilisation in the transportation of Covid-19 patients.
While appealing to the public of the ACs to extend support to the Covid task forces in fighting the pandemic, he also stated an ambulance fitted with lifesaving facility will be provided for people of the two ACs within short notice.
O Surjakumar further said that though the Union government's initiative to take care the children whose parents have died due to Covid-19 is commendable, the government should also to explore means to provide some incentives to those volunteers working at Community Home Isolation Centres in case they succumb to the disease.
