Imphal, April 24 2011:
For the first time, beneficiaries of the Basic Service to Urban Poor (BSUP) belonging to Imphal Municipal Council (IMC) Ward No 6 have been given the designs of the house which would be built under the same scheme.
The house designs were given to the beneficiaries at a simple function held at the residence of IMC Chairperson Ranisana at Uripok Achom Leikai today where MLA L Nandakumar was the chief guest.
L Nandakumar said that the Central Government has been closely monitoring the implementation of the housing scheme.
Informing that the fund for building the houses would be released on instalment basis, Nandakumar cautioned that in case one of the beneficiaries out of the 45 selected from Ward No 6 stop building the house midway or does not build the house at all, all the 45 beneficiaries would suffer equally.
Ranisana said that no one would be able to interfere in the distribution of the BSUP fund as the same would be transferred to bank accounts of the beneficiaries themselves.
Saying that construction of the houses should be completed within 18 months, she appealed to all organisations not to pose any disturbance.
She further appealed to the beneficiaries to build their houses according to the approved designs.
