Imphal, October 12 2019:
KSO Ghqs has strongly condem-ned the bomb blast which occurred at KSO Moreh office on the eve of the Anglo-Kuki War Centenary promotional concert last night, and demanded the State Government to set up an independent enquiry committee to nab the culprits involved at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at Kuki Inn today, KSO Ghqs president Pao-minthang Lupheng termed the act as a show of aggression by people with vested interest against KSO and the people of Moreh and added that the people of Moreh have imposed a total indefinite shutdown calling for arrest of those responsible for the act which shows that the people cannot tolerate such incidents any further.
This is the third time bombs have been detonated in Moreh since October 5 , he claimed.
Condemning the despicable and cowardly act, Paominthang Lupheng urged the State Government to act fast so that no further incident aggravates the situation in the area and to arrest and solve the problem before things get out of control.
He continued that the incident occurred near an area which is just 50 metres away from the 43 AR post and alleged that ever since deployment of 43 AR in the area, Moreh has seen security lapses and misunderstanding with the public.
The people of Moreh are now harbouring deep distrust against the 43 AR, he claimed.
Paominthang Lupheng said that last night's incident, which occurred at the venue of the Anglo-Kuki war centenary promotional concert, has made the situation all the more uglier and added that every community need to understand that the Anglo-Kuki War was fought in defense of the common ancestral land and freedom.
He said that the Kuki forefathers defended the land against the mighty British empire for all the people of the land and it was an important war against colonialism.
A s such, everyone need to understand and respect this fact, he said.
Further demanding the people responsible for the bomb blast to be apprehended at the earliest, Paominthang also demanded the Government to constitute an independent inquiry committee headed by a retired Justice and a general public representative to investigate the issue as well.
If the Government fails to do so, KSO will launch intense State-wide agitation, he warned.
