Assam Rifles Celebrates 68th Independence Day

On the eve of 68th Independence Day, a vibrant cultural programme was organized at the Assam Rifles High School, Pallel by 26 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) .
The occasion was marked by motivational speeches, fun filled events and scintillating performance by students.
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Brigadier Rajiv Chhibber, Commander, 26 Sector AR in the presence of the teachers, staff, students and parents.
The chief guest exhorted the students to continue excelling in the arena of education and sports towards developing a holistic personality.
He also emphasized on the importance of appreciating the nation's independence which was earned through great sacrifices by our forefathers.
He encouraged the future generation to continue preserving the ethics and values of our great nation.
The exhilarating programmes presented by the students were deeply appreciated by the audience and the fun games organized were thoroughly enjoyed by the school children.
Prizes were distributed to the proud winners by Mrs Vandana Chhibber, President, 26 Sector ARWWA.
School authorities expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organizing such a stupendous event on the important occasion.
Such functions will go a long way in building the national unity and nurturing the children with exalted values and patriotic spirit, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
In another occasion, the 68th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by 6 DOGRA of 26 Sector under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Moltuk, Khengjoi, L Bongjoi and the border villages of Phaisanjang and Molcham.
The event commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolour followed by the National Anthem.
The event included March past by school children, fun games, cultural programme and a magnificent band display by the band of 6 DOGRA.
Approximately 150 school children alongwith their parents and teachers participated in the event.
The event concluded with prize distribution to the winners and participants followed by a Lunch.
The event will go a long way in fostering nationalistic feeling among the populace of Khenjoi Sub Division, the PRO added.
