Shyamkumar too could not give any concrete reply to the demands of the UTPO.
Subsequently, a meeting was scheduled at the level of the Chief Minister on September 26 but the proposed meeting was later cancelled, Tantanga said.
Even though the UTPO had given sufficient time to the State Government to come out with a response to their demands, there has been no response till date, he continued.
As such, the UTPO and ATSLA have decided to impose indefinite bandh on Pallel-Moreh road from today midnight.
Religious activities, electricity, water supply and medical services would be exempted from the purview of the general strike/bandh, he added.
According to a press release issued by UTPO, their demands include de-notification of Yangoupokpi Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary, revocation of the order whereby some villages of Tengnoupal district were notified as reserved forest and lifting of the ban on sand and stone mining in Tengnoupal district.
