In consonance with the State Government's comprehensive plan to provide essential infrastructure in all the district headquarters a ministerial team accompanied by top officials visited Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts today.
The team comprising of Revenue Minister Th Debendra, PHE Minister Govindas Konthoujam and Commerce & Industries Minister N Mangi along with Revenue Commissioner P Sharatchandra among others inspected possible land sites at the two districts for construction of composite administrative offices.
According to reliable sources, the Ministers proceeded to Churachandpur at around 7.30 am and accompanied by the district's Deputy Commissioner immediately went around the district headquarters scouring for convenient sites to develop requisite infrastructure as well as assessing existing facilities.
On their way back similar inspections were conducted at Bishnupur dist, said the source and informed that both the DCs were asked to submit a status report to the Govt at the earliest.
It further disclosed of Government set to develop Jiribam, Moreh and Kangpokpi along with the remaining districts within this year.
Necessary funds for the purpose would be provided under the State's special plan assistance for which a substantial sum had already been reserved in the State's exchequer.
Maintaining that official process for development of Thoubal district headquarters have already been activated, the source said State Government officials are likely to tour Senapati district in a day or two for similar exercise.
Regarding Kangpokpi ADC complex land inspection had been conducted, said the source and detailed that Rs 3 crore each had been earmarked for all the ADCs, Rs 16 crore set aside for development of imphal East and Thoubal district while allocation of Rs 10 crore each had been reserved for the remaining districts.
