CRPF distributes solar lamps

69 Battalion CRPF/Headquarter, Mantripukhri has distributed solar lamps to the poor and needy people of the surroundings under its Civic Action Programme today.
The function which was held at the premises of the 69 Battalion CRPF, Mantripukhri was graced by its Commandant Omkar Nath as chief guest.
CRPF officers and representatives of the Friends Colony Welfare Association and Yaipha Sindam Naharol Club, Kontha Khabam, Mantripukhri also attended the function as members on the dais.
Speaking at the function, Omkar Nath conveyed that the 69 Battalion CRPF has been distributing essential commodities to the surrounding locals of Mantripukhri and nearby villagers.
He mentioned that the battalion had also distributed water storage tanks to villagers, constructed toilets/ bathrooms, waiting sheds, provided recruitment trainings and organised sport activities under its Civic Action Programme.
The Commandant said that the solar lamps were distributed to the surrounding villagers in Mantripukhri considering of the inconveniences faced by them during long hours of load shedding, especially in rainy season.
Further assuring that many more welfare programmes and activities will be taken up for the public in the near future, he expressed hope that such welfare programmes and activities taken up by CRPF will go a long way in building a closer relation between public and security forces/paramilitary forces besides bringing a paradigm shift in the hard life style of the public.
The locals lauded the officers and personnel of 69 Battalion CRPF.
Cultural programmes including dances by the locals of Mantripukhri and personnel of 69 Battalion CRPF marked the event.
