Medical camp, lecture held on World Health Day

Red Shield Division under Spear Corps organised a medical camp and drawing competition for children on the occasion of World Health Day at TMT School, Bishnupur and Hope Foundation Academy, Tamei.
287 students including 173 boys and 114 girls, 23 teachers and 37 civilians were rendered medical aid in the camp at Bishnupur, said PIB Defence Wing.
Approximately 200 students of Hope Foundation Academy enthusiastically participated in the drawing competition conducted on the theme 'Building a Healthier World for Everyone' at Tamei.
Similarly, Mantripukhri Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a lecture on the occasion of World Health Day at St Anthony's Public School, Murie village of Imphal East, today.
The participants were educated to understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle along with routine exercise/yoga and good food habits to cope up with old age and lifestyle related diseases.
75 students attended the lecture.
Likewise, Loktak Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Churachandpur Sector also conducted a lecture on 'Prevention of lifestyle diseases' at N Moloi village in Churachandpur district today.
The lecture was conducted with an aim to educate the local populace about various lifestyle diseases, their cause and remedial measures, it added.
The attendees including the children were also enlightened on preventive measures against the Covid pandemic, so as to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The lecture was attended by more than 85 villagers including children, parents and teachers.
The local populace conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles for undertaking such an initiative and requested for more such informative lectures in the near future for the benefit of people staying in far flung areas.
