Public demand for ILPS continues

Imphal, July 30 2015:
Apunba Langthabal Lep and Phuramakhong Nambul Mapal ILPS Demand Committee organised a mass rally on Wednesday using mikes and thronged the residence of Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C MLA RK Anand.
While the activists were marching towards the MLA's residence, a large number of people including meira paibis from Phuramakhong Nambul Mapal, Langthabal Lep Makha Leikai, Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai, Langthabal Lep Awang Leikai, Mongsangei, Ningthemcha Karong, Lourembam Leikai, Irom Leikai joined the rally participated by nearly two thousand people.
After convincing the security forces, four representatives including chairman and secretary of the organizing committee met the MLA and submitted a memorandum.
They demands include inclusion of the five points of JCILPS in the present drafting bill on ILPS, to pass the new bill within August 15 without fail, not to play delaying tactics on drafting the bill which will protect indigenous people of the State and to complete judicial enquiry into Sapam Robinhood killing at the earliest.
While denying of adopting delaying tactics on the issue, RK Anand assured them to implement the much awaited ILP system in Manipur as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, South East Asia Cultural Organisation (SEACO) has stated that those who stand against the ongoing ILPS movement for protection of indigenous people are enemies of the State.
While urging the people not to call any bandh or general strike to distract the popularity of the issue, a release by secretary general of SEACO added that during the ongoing movement Sapam Robinhood had sacrificed his life for future generation.
While condemning the State Govt's apathy in the ongoing ILPS issue and shutting down of all schools in Imphal East and West areas, All Manipur School Students' Transporter Association (AMSSTA) has declared to cease their work and stop servicing school vans.
While urging the students' parents to support the decision, AMSSTA also warned the Govt to reopen all educational institutes by August 3, Monday.
Vowing to support the ongoing ILPS movement till the end, United Club's Organisation of Bishnupur District has demanded to include the five points of JCILPS in the current drafting bill.
Before the bill is passed or sent for consideration, the drafted bill must be made public, demanded the organization.
While condoling the death of Robinhood,Singjamei to Lilong United Club's Organisation has demanded the govt to work according to people's wish and JCILPS.
Meanwhile, Khurai Ahongpung Kanba Lup, The Public Club Khurai Top Khongnangmakhong, Chaokhat Khongthang Nupee Lup, Wahengbam Leikei Yumjao Lairembi Apunba Nupi Marup Development Association, Teng Sing Lup and Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur have extended support to the ongoing ILPS mass movement.
