JSCC Advisor remanded to custody

Loitongbam Dollar Meitei, advisor of Joint Students Coordinating Committee (JSCC) has been remanded to judicial custody after he was produced before the Duty Magistrate today evening for his alleged involvement in the Statewide bandh from the midnight of September 26 called by JSCC.
Loitongbam Dollar Meitei alias Bobby (38) s/o L Babu of Lamboikhongnangkhong Maning Leikai was arrested last night from his residence by a team of Imphal West district police.
He was produced before the Duty Magistrate today along with a prayer for judicial custody till October 12.During the hearing, the IO of the case submitted before the Magistrate that Dollar was arrested as a follow up action of the arrest of 9 members of JSCC who were remanded to judicial custody on September 26 on charges of imposing the 48 hours general strike by the committee which is comprised of six student associations namely AMSU, MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS.
The also submitted that L Dollar was arrested from his residence at Lamboikhongnangkhong Maning Leikai last night for his alleged involvement in imposing the 48 hours Statewide bandh and during interrogation, Dollar allegedly admitted to the charges levelled against him and also revealed that he is a volunteer of SUK and the advisor of JSCC.
It was further submitted that Dollar disclosed that after the bandh/general strike, JSCC had resolved to boycott normal classes at secondary schools, colleges and Manipur University.
The IO mentioned about suspicion that the members of the organization may commit mischief causing damages to public property during the bandh/general strike and as such prayed for remanding the arrested JSCC advisor to judicial custody for smooth investigation of the case.
After hearing and going through the police prayer, the Court remanded Dollar to judicial custody till October 12 .
