Imphal, December 07 2011:
While stating that many people of the state have become meek, the proscribed UG group UNLF has urged the people of the state to come forward and rise against the colonial rule of the Indian Union.
It also appealed to root out the colonial rule and revolt for a free Manipur.
In a press statement UNLF stated that the forefathers of the Manipuris were brave people who laid down their lives for their freedom.
History itself is proof that the Manipuris never give up when another kingdom or country invaded them and tried to colonialise them.
However, people of today lack the quality of the brave forefathers who love their freedom more than their lives, the statement lamented.
People have become meek in the past 62 years of colonial rule under the Indian Union.
Moreover, the public representatives have become puppets of the Central leaders.
Even after working hard to earn a livelihood, many people are making do with just one meal a day and the number of poor is ever increasing in the society.
Many have fallen prey to the trap of the Indian colonial rule who tries to demoralise the youth of the state.
Inspite of this, many brave sons of Manipur are joining the revolutionary organisations from time to time and fighting against the colonial rule for a free Manipur, the statement added.
While expressing serious concerns over the activities of some people who shut out the revolutionary cadres from their localities, the statement appealed to the people to identify the real enemy of the of the people who terrorise the society.
It further called for mass public participation in the ongoing revolutionary movement by giving up selfish thoughts and strive for a free Manipur.
