Imphal, November 21 2020:
The United Naga Council (UNC) is all set to seek an appointment with Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is likely to visit the State within the current month.
The Union Home Minister's proposed visit to Imphal is highly significant as it is related to the Government of India's quest for a final solution to the protracted Naga peace talks.
Apart from the State Government, Amit Shah may seek suggestions, opinions and inputs from civil society organisations before sealing a final solution to the political dialogue going on between New Delhi, NSCN-IM and NNPGs.
Talking with The Sangai Express, UNC president Kho John noted that the proposed visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Imphal is a State programme.
"Even though his visit is a State programme, UNC would seek an appointment with the Union Home Minister and we are confident that he would give an appointment," Kho John added.
