Justice Committee for Anglo-Manipuri War 1891 Martyrs and Victims of Kangleipak has informed that the committee will observe Patriots� Day on August 13 at Manipur Press Club.
Speaking to media persons at International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) office at Keishamthong today, the committee vice chairman Yumnamcha Dilip Kumar said that the committee spent the whole month of April searching for the legacy/roots of the martyrs and patriots, apart from archiving various tales and stories about these martyrs.
The legacy of various martyrs like Sana Ngangba, Chinglensana, Kalasana, Niranjan Subedar and Maj Chongtha Mia, will also be archived as well, he added.
A public meeting was also organised at GM Hall in this regard, he informed.
Pointing out that all the records are being safely guarded and looked after, Dilip Kumar said that a memorandum has already been submitted to the CM to erect a foundation for the martyrs as well as to build a park in honour of the brave souls.
On the other hand, he continued that the committee also appreciates the CM as well as his Cabinet Ministers for naming the road in front of JNIMS in honour of Pukhrambam Kajao as well as naming the road leading to Shija hospital as Chirai Thangal.
