MSRRDA restores PMGSY road

The department of Manipur State rural road development agency (MSRRDA) in collaboration with Eastern Kuki Chief Association (EKCA) has restored the deplorable road constructed PMGSY that connect the Kuki villages from Chassad and from Kamjong to Kultuk.
Speaking to our correspondent, Secretary of EKCA Seimang Haokip said the only road constructed under PMGSY that connect the far flung area of Kuki villages with Kamjong headquarter had been remained cut off since last year.
However, EKCA has approached the EE PIU-II, Ukhrul division and highlighted the hardship faced by villages due to the pathetic road condition.
After their appeal, the concern officer (Executive engineer) swung into action and deployed heavy machineries to clear all the rubble and portions of the landslide areas ensuring re-connection of inter-villages road enabling easy access and has considerably reduced the inconveniences face by the people while travelling from one village to another.
Seimang Haokip further mentioned that under PMGSY a total length of road spanning about 20 km has connected many villages including Aishi, Mavailuk, and Phaimol and extreme corner of eastern border region.
He continued that since the road construction work under PMGSY has begun since 2016, many inter-villages road were destroyed and washed away due to incessant rains and which was also witnessed in the previous year too.
EKCA also lauded the relevant department for their timely intervention for the restoration of inter-villages road in the interest people.
