The must waiting elections to the district councils of the hill districts will come up soon as state Cabinet today approved to the handing over the responsibility of conducting the elections.
The Cabinet meeting held this evening at the Chief Minister�s Secretariat also approved to propose Rs 3232 crore to the Planning Commission of India as annual plan size for the year 2010-11 including Rs 800 Special Plan Assistance for the year.
The Cabinet meeting under the chair of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi has decided to the complete all the election process for the district council by April next year.
The rule of the Manipur (Hill) District Council Act, 2009 framed by the state law department has also been approved by the cabinet.
The elections will be conducted by the State Election Commission.
The Cabinet has approved it, said a senior minister of the Secular Progressive Front government after the Cabinet meeting was over.
The retaining fee of the state advocate general will also be hike from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000 by the Cabinet apart from approval to the increase of fees of government advocate handling government cases with the Supreme Court and High Court as well as that of lower court.
The cabinet also approved to the increase of the annual income of Schedule Tribe, Schedule Caste, women and people with disabilities from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 for availing free legal service from the State Legal Service Authority.
Other agendas discussed today and approved by the Cabinet were appointment of 13 administrative consultants of IDSP in the state health department on contract basis, filling up of five posts of people with disabilities in the state social welfare department on contract basis and appointment of four posts in the Manipur State Kala Academy under the state Art and Culture Department.
