"We have set 2010 to complete all ongoing multi-crore major projects whose constructions are nearing completion to benefit the public," Biren maintained today while adding that along with implementation of the welfare schemes equal emphasis would on solving outstanding problems besieging the society.
On the protracted agitation arising out of the BT road firing incident that occurred in the middle part of the year and is still to be resolved, he conveyed Government's commitment to find an amicable solution at the earliest.

Regarding development on the sporting front, the minister confided that setting up of a national football academy at Imphal and constructions of multi sports complex at various hill districts and Jiribam sub-division next year are also top agenda of the Government.
Reflecting back on the current year, he conceded that due to threats and disturbances caused by unlawful elements the government endured difficulties in completing many of the projects.
"With all out efforts and strong determination the government will take up new development projects in all fronts and complete all pending ones next year," Biren, also the Sports Minister said.
On the ongoing Apunba Lup-led civil movement against the July 23 shoot-out, the minister said since the High Court recently ordered for a CBI probe into the incident, it will not be proper for the government to comment on the matter.
"But we will attempt to bring about a permanent solution to the ongoing impasse at the earliest," he affirmed.
"We are also chalking out a smart and transparent mechanism to entertain and address at the earliest any public complaint against any govt staff and officials," he said.
