Imphal, March 28 2012:
The KLO/KLA cadre who was involved in the abduction of a salesman of a chicken centre at Churachandpur district for ransom was an outcast who had already been expelled from the party in December last year, Alen Kuki, Information and Publicity Secretary of KLO/KLA pointed out.
Addressing media persons at an undisclosed place in Saikul area today, Alen Kuki said that Satkitheng Kipgen (23) S/O late Khailam Kipgen of Saikul was expelled from the party for engaging in various crimes, which is against the rules and principle of KLO/KLA.
He was serving as a sergeant in KLO/KLA before he was expelled.
There has been no connection between him and the party since his expulsion.
Reacting to the claim of Satkitheng to the police that his other name is Timothy, Alen asserted that the report published in the newspapers in this regard was completely false and an attempt to spoil the reputation of the KLO/KLA.
Informing that Timothy is the name of Secretary General of KLO/KLA, Alen said that KLO/KLA is under the agreement of Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Central and State government and it would never resort to such inhuman acts (abduction for ransom).
He further informed that Thangminsang Khongsai alias Henry and Doujapaom Khongsasi alias Japao have been given forced retirement from KLO/KLA four days back.
So, their involvement in any crime is not related with the party any more.
Nonetheless, the party would take up stern actions against anyone trying to tarnish the image of KLO/KLA.
