The terms of office of Principals-in-charge of Government colleges and Heads of Departments would now be three and two years respectively, according to an office memorandum issued by the Higher and Technical Education Department yesterday.
In case a regular Principal is appointed or posted at a particular college, the term of the Principal-in-charge would be cut short.
Higher and Technical Education Department would publish a list of teachers every year who are eligible to serve as Principals-in-charge, mentioned the office memorandum.
It also asked all the teachers who are eligible for the post of Principal-in-charge to submit their ACRs and other relevant documents.
However, appointment of HoDs would be done at the commencement of academic sessions, it said.
