Former Minister Aza calls for strengthening Cong in Ukhrul

Former minister A Aza called for unity among the Congress party to strengthen its position in Ukhrul and urged the party workers to avoid internal bickering.
In the one-day Political conference organized by Chingai Block Congress Committee held at Multi Hall, Mini Secretariat on Tuesday, former minister A Aza appealed to the congress workers to work together in unity and strengthen the party position in Ukhrul district.
"There are many ticket aspirants in Chingai constituency and confusion has prevailed in the area," he stated.
Aza, however, added that ticket is not the priority as of now but the party must stand united to create its prospect in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
"There are people who claim to be congressmen and have been assuring the electorates," he stated.
Former minister Aza is also an intending Congress candidate in the ensuing assembly polls and asserted that his candidature is to be seen as the most eligible for Chingai Constituency.
MPCC general secretary Victor Keishing, while speaking as a resource person during the function, spoke on the topic "The Role of Units, Frontal Organisations, Cells and Block of the party" .
Highlighting the historical background of the Indian National Congress, the MPCC general secretary asked the partymen to spread the messages of laudable works undertaken by the Congress over the years in the Country.
He enlightened the audiences on the divergent roles of the units, frontal organisations, cells and block of the Congress party.
"Congress is a party with a strong base, and urged all to work and stand together," Keishing added.
Many veteran congressmen from three blocks comprising Ukhrul, Chingai and Phungyar were also present during the political conference.
