Imphal, April 12 2017:
All Manipur District Council Teachers' Association (AMDCTA) has warned of launching agitation if their long pending salaries are not disbursed within 15 days.
Speaking to mediapersons at Manipur Press Club, AMDCTA president Guishipou Panmei said, "Salary for primary teachers under the Autonomous District Council has not been disbursed for 7, 8 months despite submitting memorandum twice.
Therefore, AMDCTA has resolved to launch an intense agitation if our demand is not met within 15 days" .
He added, "Primary teachers have been efficiently discharging the duties.
However, both students and teachers have been reeling under lack of proper facilities.
Apart from poor state of school infrastructure, students have been deprived of school uniform.
If such negligence continues, how can the State Government bring about
quality education in the State?" .
