National integration tour organised

Imphal, November 10 2017:
A National Integration Tour from Saikul to Kolkata and back was organised by Jwalamukhi Battalion under the aegis of Senapati Brigade of Red Shield Division from November 3 to 9, said a press release of PIB Defence Wing.
The tour was flagged off from Jwalamukhi on November 3.18 students and 2 teaching staff hailing from Saikul Sub-Division of Kangpokpi district were part of the 7 days National Integration Tour to Kolkata.
The team visited various historical and cultural places, like Birla Planetarium, National Museum, Zoological Garden, Botanical Garden, Science City and Nicco Park in Kolkata during the tour.
Flagging-in ceremony of the tour was conducted at Jwalamukhi on November 9.Students and teachers shared their experience of the tour after culmination of the tour, it informed.
The National Integration Tour was organised with the aim to provide an insight into the rich heritage of the country as well as various development and industry initiatives that are underway.
It provided an opportunity to the children to know about new cultural diversities and a platform for two way interaction and educate them about people, language, architecture and history of Kolkata, it added.
